U of M Technological Leadership Institute Presents: Cyber Security Summit 2016 | Technological Leadership Institute

National leaders from academia, business and government to collaborate to improve the state of cyber security

The University of Minnesota Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) is proud to be a presenting sponsor of the sixth annual Cyber Security Summit. Cyber-attacks can happen anywhere, at any time, disrupting and damaging our democracy and way of life. Cyber Security Summit provides an opportunity for C-level executives, technology leaders, public policy makers, lawyers, forward thinking business owners, and end users to come together to improve the state of cyber security on both a domestic and international level.

Cyber Security Summit 2016 will feature a nationally-recognized lineup of cyber security experts including:

  • Dr. Massoud Amin, director and professor, Technological Leadership Institute, University of Minnesota
  • Andrew Borene, consultant, Booz Allen Hamilton; senior fellow, Technological Leadership Institute, University of Minnesota
  • Lizabeth Lehrkamp, special agent, U.S Federal Bureau of Investigation
  • Bob Stasio, Senior Product Manager, Cyber Analysis, IBM
  • Dr. Shima Keene, director of Conflict Studies Research Centre, Oxford; director of security economics program, Institute for Statecraft in London

The Summit will also offer sessions on a diverse lineup of topics including ransomware, how to attract and retain cyber talent, and a closing keynote address from Suzanne Spaulding, under secretary for National Protection and Programs Directorate at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) is an interdisciplinary center at the University of Minnesota established in 1987 by an endowment from the Honeywell Foundation. TLI's mission is to develop local and global leaders for technology-intensive enterprises through its three Master of Science degree programs: Management of Technology (MOT), Security Technologies (MSST) and Medical Device Innovation (MDI). The Institute is one of 12 academic centers affiliated with the College of Science and Engineering, which is ranked among the top engineering and science degree programs in the country.
