2018 Design of Medical Devices Conference & Fun Run | Technological Leadership Institute

Billed as the world’s largest medical device conference, the Earl E. Bakken Medical Device Center at the University of Minnesota will host the 17th annual Design of Medical Device Conference (DMD) April 9, 10-12, 2018 at the Graduate Minneapolis and McNamara Alumni Center.

DMD Conference:
The four-day conference aims to bring together world-class medical device designers, researchers, manufacturers and the public sector for a number of workshops, symposiums, scientific poster sessions and technical/scientific sessions on a large array of topics including: advances in medical devices, intellectual property, wearable medical technology, computational modeling and regulatory science, clinical cases and much more. Learn more about the conference here.

Conference Registration:
General Conference Attendee: $400 (one-day) or $700 (three-day)
Special pricing is available for TLI students and alumni.

  • Current TLI Students: $40 flat rate
  • TLI Alumni: $150 (one-day)* or $300 (three-day). When registering, select the option "UMN Employee (Faculty/Staff)."

5.10 K Road Race and Fun Run:
DMD will kick off with a 5.10K Road Race and Fun Run on Monday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. We are hoping to kick off the event with a TLI Team. This family and dog friendly race is open to all levels of runners and walkers. It’s a great opportunity to connect with TLI students, alumni and faculty and, most of all, to have fun! All TLI participants will receive a special t-shirt designed specifically for our team.

Fun Run Registration:
Current students: $10
Early bird online registration alumni: $20

Regular onsite registration alumni: $25
